Radical Community Cookout
Humboldt for Palestine is honored to invite you to our first Radical Community Cookout & book exchange at Redwood Park, Saturday July 26th at 1pm. Inspired by the work of the Black Panthers and the Rainbow Coalition, we know that we must care for each other, and join together beyond identity politics in the fight against fascism and imperialism. We understand the first step in building coalition is to get to know each other! This is an explicitly anti-colonial, anti-imperial, anti-zionist, anti-supremacist, anti-fascist space with the goal of building coalition among liberatory movements and oppressed people. If that sounds like your kind of space, you’re invited to the cookout!
What we suggest you bring:
•A dish to share, accompanied by a label with listed ingredients. Bonus points if the dish is culturally significant to you!
•Your own plate and utensils; we like to keep things as close to 0 waste as possible.
•A radical political book for our book exchange that you believe others should read during movement building.
•A likeminded friend; the more the merrier!
•Flyers or info for current community actions or events you’re involved in, that you’d like to spread the word about.
This is a family friendly event! Please keep in mind parking can be limited at Redwood Park and carpooling is highly recommended! We can’t wait to build radical community with you! Masks will be available for those who would like to wear one.
